Terms of Service

The agreement between you and WiseLingo. Short, plain, and honest about what a beta product can and cannot promise.

WiseLingo is in beta. Features may change, break, or be paused while we improve them, and the service is provided on an "as is" basis. Please keep that in mind as you read the terms below.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using WiseLingo (the marketing site at wiselingo.app and the app at app.wiselingo.app, together the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years old to use WiseLingo. Where local law requires it, users aged 14 and older should use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. The Service

WiseLingo is an AI-assisted English-learning app covering vocabulary, listening, reading, speaking, grammar, and IELTS/TOEIC practice. It is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis while in beta. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time.

4. Your account and security

Sign-in is passwordless — through Google Sign-In or a passkey. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account and your passkey devices secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at support@wiselingo.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive, or to harass others.
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or use bots or automated means to extract content or data from the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where the law expressly permits it.
  • Disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share.

6. AI-generated content and no professional advice

Much of the practice material, feedback, scoring, and explanations in WiseLingo is generated by AI and may contain mistakes or inaccuracies. Treat it as study material, not as a statement of fact.

Our IELTS and TOEIC practice is unofficial preparation material. WiseLingo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the owners of the IELTS or TOEIC exams, and any band scores or estimates are practice indicators only — not official results. "IELTS" and "TOEIC" are trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing in the Service is professional advice.

7. Your content and the licence you grant us

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload — your notes, images, and recordings. To operate the Service, you grant WiseLingo a limited, worldwide licence to host, store, and process that content, including sending it to the processors named in our Privacy Policy (for OCR, transcription, scoring, and similar features). You are responsible for the content you upload and confirm you have the rights to share it with us for these purposes.

8. Intellectual property

The Service itself — the software, design, brand, mascot, and the curated learning content we provide — belongs to WiseLingo or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial licence to use the Service for your own language learning. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute our content except as allowed by these terms or by law.

9. No payment in this version

This version of WiseLingo is free to use — there are no purchases, subscriptions, or payments. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will present separate pricing and terms for them before you are charged.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will produce any particular exam result or learning outcome.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WiseLingo and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Because this version of the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

12. Termination

You can stop using WiseLingo at any time and may request account deletion by emailing support@wiselingo.app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that harms it or other users.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, and any disputes will be handled under Vietnamese law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as WiseLingo evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
